Exterior work

There was vinyl siding on the lower portion of the house - here, it's been removed. Also, gutters removed.

Back of the house with bottom stucco repair in the works.
House is painted white with dark grey trim - not quite finished but close!
When we bought the house, we knew there were a few things we wanted to do to the outside for phase 1. One was removing the outdated landscaping and small fence around the front yard and another was removing the vinyl siding. Also, of course a fresh paint job.

There wasn't too much discussion about what paint color to use. We briefly thought about going dark but in the end, white exterior was really the only way to go and the trim would be dark grey.  We just wanted something fresh and clean looking. We picked a grey trim color to match the color the gutters came in which worked out perfectly.

A white house always looks nice with green grass.... (thank you, sprinkler system).

Media room makeover

Our garage is a finished out room, which is especially useful for the media room we dreamed of. When we moved in, the room needed to be painted and while the old school vinyl flooring design wasn't bad, it was very dirty and would have had to be professionally cleaned. And wasn't really what we wanted in there. Carpet is better for sound absorption. We went with carpet.

The carpet itself was the hardest decision. After looking at the swatches at Lowes Depot over and over and over again and coming to no conclusion, we turned to the internet and decided on FLOR carpet tile. You can get interesting colors and textures that you can't find elsewhere. We wanted something dark, but with texture and we found this one called, Something Concrete. It's a good system - very easy to install.

One room done. The laundry room is next up.....And after that, lots more projects to go.

Shed Organization.

At this point, most of our stuff has been moved into matching grey tubs. But still, a mess.
Matching tubs, with matching labels on new shelving.

Looking better!
It seemed a monumental task. We had so much stuff in the workshed and no where to store it. There was barely room to walk around and no surfaces to work on anything. There was christmas decorations, old paintings, ski pants, clay supplies, halloween stuff, and much more in old mismatched boxes. We decided to buy all of one style of tub to put everything in and with the addition of some nice labels, we could at least reduce the clutter and still have everything accessible and organized! Once we got the shelving built, we were good to go. It's a great feeling to have all of it situated.

Shed out back.
Wanted to post some more pictures of the house. Here's a few photos that show how things were looking before we got settled in.
